Cleaning Guidelines:

  • Lightly Vacuum the Surface: Use a vacuum cleaner to remove loose dirt and debris from the surface of the mat.

    • Ensure that this is done without any rotating vacuum brushes, as these can damage the mat’s natural fibers.
  • Shake Out Excess Dirt: Periodically lift and shake the mat to dislodge dirt particles trapped within the fibers.

  • Spot Clean with Mild Detergent: For stains or spills, apply a mild detergent mixed with water to the affected area. Gently scrub with a soft brush and blot with a clean cloth.

  • Avoid Excessive Moisture: Coir mat rolls should not be soaked in water. If the mat becomes wet, ensure it is dried thoroughly to prevent mold and mildew.

  • Air Dry Only: After cleaning or if the mat gets wet, always allow it to air dry completely before placing it back in use. Avoid placing the mat in direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as this can cause the fibers to become brittle.

  • Rotate Periodically: To ensure even wear, rotate the mat occasionally, especially in high-traffic areas. This will help maintain the mat’s appearance and prolong its lifespan.
